Boohoo Fever has its frets and fevers as well as its beauties. There is effort and danger here, which is what distinguishes this music from bland "electicism". This isn't creative tourism but an act of exploration, marked out by solidarity, absence of ego, a kind of genderless courage, and an irresistible pleasure in small things.
This is music that doesn't care whether "the school keeps it or not".
